Create your own party outfit – from idea to finished design

Do you dream of creating your own party dress or a unique outfit for a Christmas party, a gala or another special occasion?

In Sewing & Design, you will get the chance to develop and sew your own design from scratch. You will be guided through the entire process – from ideas, inspiration and choosing materials to fitting, construction and sewing. The goal is for you to leave with a personal outfit that fits both you and your individual style.

We have a selection of fabrics and sewing supplies available, but you are also very welcome to bring your own materials and patterns if you already have an idea you would like to develop.

Everyone is welcome – beginners and experienced sewists alike. You do not need any previous sewing experience; the most important thing is that you want to be creative, learn new skills and enjoy the process.

Your instructor

My name is Ásla, I am 26 years old and I come from the Faroe Islands. I am trained as a garment technician and design technologist, and I am currently completing my BA in Design & Business.

I have always been creative, but my passion for crafts really took off when I started my garment technician education in 2021. It gave me the opportunity to immerse myself in the craft, experiment and spend countless hours at the sewing machine. For the first time, I truly felt at home in a learning environment.

My mantra is that the things we create do not always need to have a specific purpose. It is just as important to slow down, stay curious and enjoy the act of making – the final result is often simply a bonus
