About Birk TeQ

Birk TeQ traces its roots back to 1979, when the company was founded as Birk El Service – a traditional electrical installation business with a corner shop on Håkonsgade in Herning. In 1994, Sten Engsig Madsen joined the company as Managing Director and sole owner of Birk El Service, and in 1999 the premises on Håkonsgade became too small, prompting a move to the current location at Hedelandsvej 7 in Herning. As technology evolved, both expertise and ambitions grew, and in 2009 Birk El Service changed its name to Birk TeQ A/S to reflect the broad technical foundation on which the company stands today. In 2016, Allan Engsig Jakobsen joined the ownership group of Birk TeQ, and in 2023 Michael Engkær Engsig Madsen became a co-owner. These additions to the ownership structure ensure the continued development that Birk TeQ has pursued over the past 45 years—as a technical hub with customer needs at the centre. Today, Birk TeQ is a modern technical company with more than 70 employees, bringing together all competencies within Electrical Installations, Security, Data, Telephony, Fire Safety and Green Energy—united under one roof. This ensures that our customers receive reliable, future-proof and well-coordinated solutions, regardless of the size of the task. Our specialised technicians and installers work closely together across disciplines, enabling better consultancy, faster execution, and solutions that are coherent—both technically and practically. Our slogan, “A Secure Connection”, is not only about technology, but also about the relationships we build with our customers, suppliers and employees.
