Here you have the opportunity to make your very own rug from scratch! You challenge your creative skills with guidance from our skilled teachers and the experience of being part of a creative community.

You work together with a partner on a 60x70 cm frame, with room for a 50x60 cm design. You can each make a design on half of the frame – or you can make one large design together and later divide it in a special way. There are many possibilities!

The workshop consists of four sessions:

• October 27 at 7:00 PM-9:00 PM: Inspiration – let creativity flourish
• November 3 at 7:00 PM-9:00 PM: Sketching, tufting & technique
• November 10 at 7:00 PM-9:00 PM: Tufting and gluing
• November 17 at 7:00 PM-9:00 PM: The final finishing touches: cut and trim

About us

Jonas

I am 26 years old and live in Herning. I am passionate about design, art and community. I study furniture design at VIA University College. I started tufting in 2023 and have since made my own rugs and held many workshops. I love experimenting with materials and creating things that are both functional and have a personal meaning.

Maja

I am passionate about creating spaces for creativity, sports and community - places where there is room to support, collaborate and inspire each other. I love the creative process because it allows for personal expression, but also to challenge yourself. I have been crocheting and knitting as a hobby since the 3rd grade. Last fall I fell in love with tufting - I bought a book and tufted until my hands were about to fall off, with ongoing guidance from Jonas. Together we founded The Tufting Project, where we have held everything from large events such as the Men's Handball World Championship's fan zone to smaller private workshops.

That's why we're really looking forward to guiding you through a whole workshop! I can't wait for us to get into it together and bring all our different ideas to live!
