International Citizen Day, Herning is an annual event for internationals in Herning - and anyone else interested.

Get to know associations, activities and things to do in the Herning-area.

On this day you can

• Meet a range of organisations and associations and find inspiration for leisure activities, networking, places to go and much more.
• Experience a Living Library / group discussion session: We have invited a number of volunteers/”Living Books” who are ready to share their story in small group sessions.
• Network with locals and internationals.
• Enjoy Latin Dance from Herning Latin Dance.
• Experience a Kendo (Japanese martial art) demonstration
• Participate in a competition and win great prices.
• Join the after-event informal networking part at Fox & Hounds.

The next International Citizen Day takes place Saturday 12. September 2026 at Herning Bibliotekerne, Østergade 8 in Herning.

Programme

10.30-13.00: Stands are open.
11.00: Official welcome by Tommy Tønning, member of Herning Municipal Council.
11.05: Short introductions by exhibitors.
11.45: Kendo showcase (Japanese martial arts).
12.00: Open dance class with Herning Latin Dance.
13.00-13.30: Networking and refreshments
13.05-13.15: Mini-concert with Ensemble MidtVest
13.30: Living Library: Meet local internationals and hear their story. We have invited a number of volunteers/Living Books who will share their story.
15:00: Hygge and networking at Fox & Hounds
