Is there anything you can’t make out of clay?

Would you like to try pottery and create something with your own hands? At Clay, you can discover the joy of working with clay and bring your ideas to life.

We won’t be using pottery wheels. Instead, we’ll explore different handbuilding techniques, giving you the chance to experiment and create your own unique pieces. You’ll glaze your pieces yourself in the colours you choose.

You don’t need any pottery experience. There’s room to try things out, get absorbed in the process and have fun along the way. Participation is free.

Participation is free of charge.

About the instructor

My name is Mie, and I live in Herning with my husband Nicklas and our three children, Mynte, Magne and Mille. Over the past few years, I’ve been at home with my family, and during that time I developed a strong passion for pottery.

I’m self-taught and have come to understand clay through many hours of practice and exploration. I love the whole process, from a lump of clay to a finished piece. My own work includes wheel-thrown cups, vases, bowls and oil lamps, as well as handbuilt wall art and lamps.

I look forward to sharing my love of pottery with you and showing that everyone can create something. You don’t need experience – just curiosity and a willingness to try. I’m creative, down-to-earth and patient, and I want to create a space where you can get absorbed in your work, explore unusual ideas and enjoy yourself.

This activity is offered by UngHerning+ and is open to all 18- to 25-year-olds in Herning Municipality.
